05-08-2011

The Permanent Secretary in the State House, Dr. Ibrahim Daudu has expressed optimism that Nigeria will meet the 2015 deadline of the Millennium Development Goals.

At a lecture on accelerating progress on the MDGs in Abuja, Dr Daudu explained that though Nigeria has done well as regards the goals, the positive indices have not been adequately publicized due to communication gap.

He decried what he described as a structural defect in the nation’s civil service which was supposed to be the engine room of the MDG projects.

In a remark, a Briton who has been studying the progress in the MDGs in the Country, Mr. Jonathan Phillips called for commitment on the part of stakeholders for the achievement of the goals.
